Liberating ourselves
and each other is needed now more than ever.
About Miakoda
J. Miakoda Taylor (they/them/we/us) is a disabled, two-spirit descendant of Indigenous peoples of Turtle Island, enslaved Africans, and European immigrants. They have over 25 years of experience in community organizing, leadership and organizational development, and building trust and accountability across seemingly insurmountable divides.
Our Approach
The Get Free approach to change liberates individuals and teams from the harmful patterns of “business as usual” and catalyzes them towards ways of being and collaborating that:
Center relationships
Embrace conflict as an opportunity
Intersect different lived experiences
Feed dignity, health, and joy
Position us to learn from our mistakes
Draw upon the intelligence of our bodies and the natural world
We know this sort of courageous, vulnerable, and radical (from the roots) change is hard. We also know it is enormously joyful, playful, and satisfying—that’s why we do it!
